DIPLOMA PROGRAM IN NATURAL THERAPIES
The Diploma Program in Natural Therapies is ideal for students wanting a solid, broad introduction to natural and spiritual healing, human nutrition, and herbal medicine. The Diploma Program in Natural Therapies is also perfect for those in the healing professions who wish to supplement and expand their knowledge of holistic health.
COURSE DESCRIPTIONS & BOOK LIST
The Diploma Program in Natural Therapies consists of the four courses of the Certificate program, plus the following four courses:
1. Nutritional Cardiology: How to maintain a healthy heart and circulatory system. The many causes of heart disease; the saturated fat and cholesterol myths. The thyroid in relation to heart health. Text: TBA; "The Oiling of America" by Sally Fallon & Mary Enig (article reprint supplied by UOHT). 3 credits.
2. Nutrition for Men & Women: Nutritional needs for men and women through the life cycles of adulthood, pregnancy, menopause, and old age. Texts: Super Nutrition for Men by Ann Louise Gittleman (Avery Publishing; NY); Super Nutrition for Women by Gittleman (Bantam Books; NY). 6 credits.
3. Whole Foods Cooking: Traditional food preparation techniques to maximize nutritional content of food and ease its digestion. Course includes all food groups and meal components. Text: Nourishing Traditions (New Trends Publishing; D.C.) by Sally Fallon and Mary Enig; TBA. 3 credits.
4. Weight Loss & Diet Disorders: An in-depth look at various weight loss programs with an emphasis on determining a safe, nutritious approach to weight loss. Using amino acids to correct brain and behavioral imbalances and food addictions. Texts: The Schwarzbein Principle by Diana Schwarzbein, MD (HLC Publications; Florida); The Diet Cure by Julia Ross (Penguin Books; USA). 5 credits.
No program final is required for this program.

The Diploma Program in Natural Therapies is available for a minimum donation of $430, plus a one-time shipping and handling charge of $35 (USA), $45 (Canada & Mexico), or $55 (overseas). Books required for the program (except those provided by the University) are not included and are the responsibility of the student. If the student is intending to apply for transfer credit for similar courses previously completed elsewhere, the suggested donation amount will be adjusted accordingly.
